Presenting at ASA Conference in SF April 30, 10:30 AM on Technology for Seniors at Home: Who and What Makes It Work? panel discussion

Thank you for checking in!  It’s been a busy Spring at 21st Century Care Solutions!

You may have attended my presentation on Incorporating Technology Into Your Care Plan at Rhoda Goldman Plaza on March 30th.  I hope you found it interesting!

In addition to this blog, in the next few weeks, we will be updating our website to include product recommendations.

Many of you will be attending the ASA Aging in America 2011 Conference April 26-30 in San FranciscoOn Saturday, April 30 at 10:30 a.m., I will be on the panel Technology for Seniors at Home: Who and What Makes it Work? with Laurie Orlov and Susan Estrada.

We will be discussing new technologies for aging in place and professional challenges with introducing new technology into the care, monitoring, and improved quality of life for their clients. In this session, we will consider 4 questions in the context of remote monitoring, emergency response, safety, health and wellness, and caregiver and family communication:

DOES tech for a senior’s home actually work?

WHO should verify that it works together with other tech?

WHO should be available in the event that there are problems?

WHAT process changes must be made to be successful?

There are numerous technology products available today to improve the safety and well-being of seniors wishing to remain in their homes. This session will address the critical considerations for professionals when purchasing or introducing technology — such as remote monitoring, emergency response, health and wellness, or communication technologies. Attendees will leave understanding questions to ask and criteria to consider.

In particular, I will discuss how technologies work in care management framework, how a professional should implement technology in their practice beginning with a technology evaluation of client and products.

Check it out and spread the word!  See you there!
